HIGH-QUALITY, EXCLUSIVE WRITING INSTRUMENTS FROM THE MANUFACTURER
Exclusive Writing Instruments, Made in Germany
In 1913, Coco Chanel opened her first boutique in Deauville, making a global luxury statement. At the same time, in Pforzheim, on the border of Baden and Württemberg, two visionaries met: the entrepreneur Christian Bossert and the engineer August Erhard. Both shared a passion for fine writing instruments. In 1919, they founded Bossert & Erhard Pforzheim, the “Factory for Fine Writing Instruments and Pocket Accessories in Precious Metals.” Their goal: to create fountain pens in solid sterling silver and gold, crafted to perfection and exuding an aura of luxury.
With high-quality fountain pens and refined pencils, Bossert & Erhard quickly gained an international reputation. Legendary became the “Color” four-color pencil, introduced in 1935, which set technical standards with its innovative design. The Second World War reduced the factory to rubble, but after 1945 it was rebuilt with state-of-the-art equipment and skilled personnel.
In the post-war years, the Pforzheim pioneers achieved their next triumph: the “Boscolor” four-color ballpoint pen, which became a worldwide success and propelled Bossert & Erhard into the global top tier of luxury writing instruments. The brand soon became a sought-after partner for international manufacturers.
In 2015, the Bechtold Group, successful in the finishing industry since 1991, integrated the brand into its portfolio.
